Spoleto is a town in the province of Perugia, which was developed on the hill Sant'Elia. The country has ancient origins because it was already inhabited by prehistoric times. The first witnesses are to understand that Spoleto was inhabited at least since the seventh century BC by the Umbrians, as exemplified by the ancient tombs that date back to the Iron Age. The walls are those that polygonal cyclopean walls formed by huge boulders of limestone in the form polygonal, show that this was a city well-fortified and fitted, in a dominant position on the Umbrian valley.
